We absolutely loved planning and documenting this Mt Rainier wedding. M+M reached out to us 2 months before their Mt Rainier wedding date, looking for adventure elopement photographers to help them plan an intimate ceremony in the middle of one of their favorite national parks. One of their first dates was hiking Tolmie Peak, and they knew that they wanted to exchange vows in a place that was equally beautiful and meaningful to them. One of the coolest aspects of adventure elopements is that you can get married pretty much anywhere and craft an intentional day that’s filled with all the things you love.
Ready to plan your Mt Rainier wedding?
We met M+M at their adorable A-frame cabin located in the middle of Packwood, Washington. It was an early and quiet 5 A.M. start as they each got ready in separate rooms of their cabins, surrounded by their friends. The morning was filled with quiet conversations and excitement.
Beauty by Adina made sure that everyone was serving *lewks* early in the morning and gave M a gorgeous updo that looked stunning through all of the adventures from their wedding day. Check her out here! M found the perfect dress from Lulus and paired it with some killer doc martens. This has easily become our fave bridal look.
We ran into a tiny issue with boutonniere as everyone was getting ready, but luckily your fave adventure elopement photographers always come prepared and had some safety pins on hand! M made her own bouquet and it was absolutely perfect.

Planning the First look
As the sun started to peek out, we set up for their first look. Their cabin was positioned right on the Cowlitz River and made for the perfect, secluded spot for their first look. The sky was such a soft pale blue as it shifted from blue-hour into golden and made for the dreamiest light. This spot was a short walk from their cabin but was so far removed from everyone else, giving them an opportunity to share this moment privately. We love private first looks with our couples. There is always a moment where you can actually see all the stress melt away. 10/10 recommend incorporating a private first look into your day.
After their first look, we all hopped in our truck and had their pals follow us to their Mt Rainier wedding location. We spent a lot of time finding the perfect spot for their ceremony and applying for all of the necessary permits. When planning your Mt Rainier wedding, remember to be sure you apply for all of the permits required by the park. If you have questions about the permitting process, you can always contact the permitting office, or reach out to your adventure elopement photographers to help you out!

Mt. Rainier Wedding | The Perfect Ceremony
We scouted this spot and all of their other locations beforehand to make sure we knew exactly what to expect. We were so happy to hear that even though they spent the previous day exploring Mt Rainier with their crew, they didn’t visit any of their Mt Rainier wedding day locations. Their first time exploring these gorgeous spots was on their wedding day with their closest friends.
The hike was short and easy and we had it completely to ourselves. If you want privacy for your elopement, consider a sunrise ceremony to help avoid crowds! As we hiked deeper into the canopy, we could all hear the sound of the waterfall growing closer. The excitement was palpable as everyone gathered around for their ceremony. A friend acted as their officiant and their friend’s and M’s brother sang the most gorgeous songs through their ceremony. It was truly magical. After the ceremony, their guests hiked out and we spent some time soaking in the views and exploring the trail before the labor day crowds came.

Mt. Rainier Wedding | Exploring the Park
For their Mt Rainier wedding, M+M wanted to be surrounded by massive trees and greenery, so we explored a nearby old-growth forest that ticked all the boxes. We spent our time exploring the trail, laughing, and having an awesome time together (while taking beautiful photos…duh). At this point in the day, we were running into quite a few folks on the trail who were all super thrilled to see these two in their wedding digs.
Before heading back to their cabin for more celebration, we drove through Mt Rainier to check out other spots and jammed to some killer playlists, stopping at beautiful pullouts and reflection lake.

Mt. Rainier Wedding | Celebrating with Guests
After making it back to the cabin it was time for wedding day festivities including popping bottles, karaoke, cake, and two pinatas. After cheering them on and celebrating with these two, we all took a break to rest up before meeting up for dinner at the Paradise Village Restaurant to hang out and relive this insanely beautiful day.
Planning this Mt Rainier wedding was an absolute blast and we loved helping these two find the perfect locations. While elopements have the reputation of being easier to plan than a large traditional wedding, they still require a bit of planning and figuring out a lot of logistics, so having your adventure elopement photographers and other vendors by your side to help you plan can be a huge help. We were so thrilled to celebrate with these two and see all of their plans and dreams come to fruition.
M and M’s Mt. Rainier wedding was absolutely perfect and so incredibly intentional. We love getting to see couples soak in their wedding day.
